Breaking the Cast
A gel cast (or “crunch”) holds the curl in place while it dries, preventing frizz from forming. Once the hair is 100% dry, you can “scrunch out the crunch” (SOTC) with a light oil to reveal soft, defined curls. Touching your hair before it’s completely dry breaks the cast prematurely, leading to instant frizz and lost definition.
