Plopping vs. Microplopping: Which Drying Technique Wins?

Compare how both methods affect roots, moisture removal and curl shape. Drying curly hair is a delicate balance between removing water and preserving the curl pattern.

Plopping vs. Microplopping

Traditional plopping involves wrapping your hair in a T-shirt for 10-20 minutes, which is great for root lift but can sometimes “squish” curls. Microplopping uses a microfiber towel to gently scrunch out excess water section by section. This offers more control over the final shape and is often better for those with fine hair or waves that are easily weighed down.
